GA4GH Inc. — the Canadian not-for-profit organization associated with the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health — is accepting open nominations for its Board of Directors.
While Directors may reside anywhere in the world, GA4GH strives to achieve greater geographic diversity and representation through this process. Preference will be given to nominees who are from countries, cultural and professional backgrounds, and sectors not currently represented on the Board and who have demonstrated engagement with GA4GH and are clearly committed to its mission. The current Directors are located in the US, the UK, and Canada.
Directors meet as a Board one to four times per year to collaboratively provide strategic leadership, oversight, and governance to GA4GH Inc., through a fiduciary duty (acting in the best interest of the organization) and a duty of care (performing to the best of their abilities). Directors serve a three-year term at a minimum, with the opportunity to be re-elected at the end of a term, and an upper limit of nine years of service.
The overall Global Alliance will continue to be governed by the Executive Committee and the Standards Steering Committee.
