In this episode, we chatted with Professor Alan Christoffels about the role of genomic surveillance and outbreak response in Africa. Alan’s lab builds computational tools for analyzing high throughput genomic data for infectious disease research. He directs thePublic Health Alliance for Genomic Epidemiology (PHA4GE) and serves as a member of the founding working group ofH3Africa, two GA4GH partners.

The Minister for Health and Aged Care said at a press conference, "We've also always partnered internationally, and we have many of our lead researchers involved in the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health that brings together over 100 countries who are all working together to make sure that we ensure the benefits of genomic medicine for all."
