On 17 July, the GA4GH Standards Steering Committee voted to release refget v2.0. This GA4GH standard quietly helps decipher many of the millions of genomes sequenced worldwide. Version 2.0 opens up reliable reference genome retrieval to even more communities, with better compatibility for a range of reference genome names, formats, and systems.
