You're invited to the GA4GH Hackathon!

 

The GA4GH Hackathon, brought to you by the Federated Analysis Systems Project (FASP) group, is a 2 week-long virtual event that focuses on API improvement of existing GA4GH specifications, and implementing GA4GH specifications in new environments. The hackathon is composed of multiple topics which aim to either:

  • Clarify and/or formalize a new feature in one or more existing GA4GH specifications that will enable more research use cases
  • Develop and/or deploy implementations of GA4GH standards to facilitate a novel, federated use case

    What does Hackathon participation look like?

    The Hackathon is composed of Participants and Coordinators. Each role plays an important part in advancing identified use cases.

    Participant

    • Identify topics you would be interested in contributing to
    • Provide your availability to the Topic Coordinator
    • Review background documentation ahead of the scheduled meeting times
    • Attend scheduled meetings

      Coordinator

      • Indicate a topic that you would be interested in bringing forward to FASP
      • Coordinate participants and meeting times
      • Keep Hackathon spreadsheet up to date with information about scheduled meetings, discussion details and outcomes
      • Provide links to any background documentation (e.g. GitHub links, Google docs) for participants to review ahead of the meeting
